At a glance
You can email a request without signing in. Tell us the service and organisation involved. Never send a password, one-time code or identity document with your initial request.
Make a request
Email hello@openfarmslab.com with the subject “Privacy request” and tell us whether you want access, correction, an export or deletion. Include:
- The name and contact address or number associated with your records, and whether you used the website, platform or WhatsApp.
- The organisation or cooperative involved, if known.
- The information or account concerned and the action you want.
- A safe way to contact you about the request.
For a website interest-form submission, identify the email address used. For WhatsApp records, identify the number used and the relevant organisation. You do not need to publish your request or send private information in website chat.
Identity and authority checks
We need enough evidence to avoid disclosing or deleting someone else’s records. We may confirm control of a registered contact method, use an existing signed-in relationship, or arrange a proportionate check through your organisation. An authorised representative must establish their authority. We will explain any further information needed and how to provide it safely.
Do not include passwords, OTPs, complete identity documents or financial details in the initial email. We will not ask you to share your login code as proof.
What happens next
We identify the responsible organisation, verify the request and assess its scope. Where your organisation controls the records, we assist it with the request under the applicable arrangement and tell you how to contact it. Where available, the signed-in service or an authorised field agent can also record a request.
We aim to respond within 30 days of receipt, or any shorter period required by applicable law. If a lawful extension or a limitation applies, we will explain the reason and next steps. If you disagree with an outcome, ask for review or complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
What deletion covers
Depending on the records involved, fulfilment can remove personal details, messages, AI context, media references and account links; revoke relevant consents; and make designated encrypted personal content unreadable by destroying its keys. AI working-state deletion is a separate part of the processing flow. We confirm the outcome rather than treating receipt of an email as completed deletion.
A request for one organisation’s records does not automatically close every account or remove records independently held by another organisation. Farm records shared with other authorised people may need to be retained without your identifying details. Please specify if your request concerns several organisations.
Information that may remain
Legal holds, applicable obligations, security investigations, rights of other people and the need to establish or defend legal claims can limit deletion. Limited audit and request evidence may be retained where lawful. We will explain applicable limits rather than promise that every record disappears immediately.
Backup copies age out under the applicable schedule and restoration controls must preserve completed erasure decisions. Copies on your device, another participant’s device or independently controlled provider systems are not all removable by Openfarms Lab. You may need to make a separate request to that controller.
Messaging opt-out and other choices
Reply STOP to stop enabled WhatsApp business messages. This withdraws messaging permission; it does not erase the conversation or close an account. Withdrawing AI-advice or advice-improvement consent and changing website analytics choices are also separate actions. State which choices you want changed if your request covers more than deletion.
Export packages supplied through the platform are available for seven days after delivery before scheduled removal. Download them promptly and store them securely. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.
